Insurance at Student Health
- All registered students may use Student Health services
- There is no cost to see our providers
Additional charges may apply for:
- Lab services
- X-rays
- Pharmacy
- Allergy shots
- Special procedures
We are in-network with:
- MedCost
- Student Blue
- Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina
Insurance is billed when your information is on file at the time of your visit.
If you have private/non-university insurance:
- Upload a copy (front and back) of your current insurance card to the Student Health Portal
- Bring your physical or digital card to your appointment
If you have Student Blue:
- No upload required — we already have access to your information
Your insurance may be billed for:
- Lab services
- Referrals to specialists
- Pharmacy services
⚠️ Any charges not covered by your insurance are your responsibility.
Before your first appointment:
- Review and sign the Patient Financial Responsibility Form
- Complete this in the My Niner Health Portal
- Student Health is not a Medicaid or Medicare provider
- Students are responsible for any charges incurred at Student Health
Pharmacy Exception:
Medicaid may cover prescriptions filled at the pharmacy if written by a Medicaid provider.
