Student Health has an on-site laboratory that supports our medical clinic and providers. We offer in-house lab testing and also partner with LabCorp for send-out tests. For more information, click on the headers below.
- If your test is performed in the Student Health lab and your insurance is in-network, the charge will be billed to your insurance. Any remaining balance after insurance processing will be charged to your student tuition account.
- If Student Health is out of network with your insurance, you will be required to pay the lab fee at the time of service by paying by debit or credit card or applying the charge to your student tuition account.
- If you choose for your insurance not to be billed or do not have insurance on file, you will be treated as a self-pay patient.

- If your test is sent to LabCorp and you are covered by SHIP, Student Health will bill your insurance.
- If your test is sent to LabCorp and you are not covered by SHIP, If you choose to have your insurance billed, LabCorp will bill your insurance directly.
- Any remaining balance after insurance processing will be billed to you separately by LabCorp, not through Student Health.

- If you don’t have insurance or are covered by Medicaid, you will be responsible for paying any lab costs.
- Please note that these lab charges are designated as 'self-pay' and cannot be filed with your health insurance. Payment is due at the time of service.
- If you choose for your insurance not to be billed, you will be treated as self-pay.
- You will be obligated to pay for the services provided and will not be permitted to submit a claim to your insurance.
Patients may obtain test results from their provider, and some results may be posted to the My Niner Health portal. It can take up to a few business days for results to be added to the portal. You may receive some results at the time of your visit.
Student Health (SH) laboratory services support SH medical clinic and its providers. Lab testing will be performed when ordered by Student Health Center providers. There is a fee for lab work performed.
Outside lab orders tend to be specialized and complex; therefore, SH will not routinely conduct outside lab orders for outside providers. Please see below for alternative options for laboratory testing. Please consult with your provider and insurance company regarding costs for using alternative sites.
